To Those That Have Suffered So
While this has been a problem since the beginning, Joy-Con drift has gotten more attention of late. Switch users have been experiencing enough problems that a straight-up class action lawsuit is in the works. In light of this nasty business, Nintendo has made a statement regarding peopleโs drifting Joy-Cons.
โWe are aware of recent reports that some Joy-Con controllers are not responding correctly. We want our consumers to have fun with Nintendo Switch, and if anything falls short of this goal we always encourage them to visit http://support.nintendo.com so we can help.โ If this hasnโt happened to you yet, Joy-Con drift is when your controller detects movement when there isnโt any. Depending on what youโre playing, this can be a huge problem.
For some players, this issue has been around for years. Other people have only started noticing the drift in the last few months. Nintendo is offering to fix the problem, but even that sometimes isnโt enough. Players have noticed the drift returning almost immediately after the controller is returned. While this is an extreme and somewhat rare example, Joy-Con drift is still becoming a serious issue for a lot of players.
