We’ve Seen Miracles like This Before
Gamers generally like it when universes collide; when their favourite characters crossover into other games. Such evidence is found in the success of games like Super Smash Bros., Kingdom Hearts, Injustice, Marvel Vs. Capcom, Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing? Forget about that last one. Most crossover titles are wildly popular. Unfortunately, a lot of our favourite heroes and villains are kept apart by these pesky little things called copyrights. Although these are often impassible hurdles, there have been calls for such things to be overlooked or amended. The official Halo Twitter account seems to be alright with getting Master Chief in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
A couple of days ago, Twitter Gaming threw a question out to the cosmos of the internet. “If you could bring any character in to Smash, who would it be?” The Halo account responded, effectively throwing Chief’s name into the helmet, so to speak. The response was a GIF from the Halo Infinite teaser with Master Chief holding his helmet. The question was posed by Twitter Gaming, not any official Nintendo related account, so at best Mr. Nintendo might just see the tweet, ponder it, and maybe, just maybe…

It would be pretty cool to see Master Chief drop down onto a Smash stage in an ODST drop pod or just jump out of space. I imagine he would play like a cross between Samus and Snake. He certainly has access to a large enough arsenal that developers would have no shortage of inspiration for a moveset. Rifts have been narrowed with inclusions of characters like Solid Snake and Cloud. Throwing in Master Chief doesn’t seem beyond possibility.
I ship it. Do you? Let us know in the comments below.
