Far Cry New Dawn Video Review – It’s More of The Same and That is Wonderful

Far Cry New Dawn Video Review

Far Cry New Dawn is a game that sits in an unusual position we don’t often have. This is a game we didn’t expect – nor ask for – and delivers a new yet familiar experience at a budgeted price to make up for less content than its predecessor. It’s a game we welcome, but we aren’t rushing to greet it. New Dawn shocked us with its announcement and the fact it carries on the story immediately after the hugely climactic events of Far Cry 5, we were curious to see where it would go. For everything the game does right, there is something it equally does wrong and so it leaves New Dawn in this position of being great for fans of Far Cry 5 or those on a budget, but to the casual gamer or those who might want to jump into the franchise… well, check out our video review below.

Far Cry New Dawn is set 17 years after the events of Far Cry 5. With humans returning to the surface after the “superbloom,” they have begun to rebuild society, however with a resurgence of man also means a resurgence of violence. The Highwaymen have banded together to take what they want and do as they please, putting you at odds with their desires to rule everything. While New Dawn does feature some new light RPG elements, it lacks enough cohesive new features to make it stand out from the mechanics of Far Cry 5. While there are some truly fun new parts such as Expeditions, New Dawn really is a small bite of what they could have offered fans of the franchise.
