Far Cry 5: Lost on Mars Video Review
When Far Cry 5 was first announced the game became a massive buzz for its societal commentary and more realistic setting. The final product not only did not take a political stance as many had feared, but ended up being an absolute blast to play and a fantastic new direction for the series. Wanting to offer something unique with this outing, Ubisoft later announced three DLCs that were each completely out of left field; instead of adding to the base game, these would change the setting and narrative as a whole. Possibly the most anticipated of the three is Lost on Mars, in which players would head to the red planet to take on alien creatures. Sounds fun right? Check out our video review below to see what we think of the latest Far Cry 5 expansion.
Far Cry 5: Lost on Mars is the second released DLC for the massively popular first-person shooter. Players take control of Nick Rye – the pilot of the base game – as he heads to Mars to help Hurk defeat an imminent alien invasion. The game is absolutely gorgeous and offers new mechanics with a booster pack, low gravity, and new weapons, however, the final execution of the DLC feels repetitive and uninteresting beyond the first 20 minutes or so. Scaling towers is a staple of the DLC and enemy AI is repetitive and predictable. Bringing the pilot to Mars and not giving him something to pilot feels like a huge missed opportunity and as such takes away much of the potential fun of this DLC.
Far Cry 5: Lost on Mars is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. For more information on this and the final DLC headed to the game, check out the official website.
