What Could Ubisoft Have Up Its Sleeve for E3 This Year?
Ubisoft has finally confirmed, on Twitter no less, that it will be hosting its annual E3 press conference on Monday, June 11th.
Save the Date, #UbiE3 is coming! Join us on June 11, from 1pm PT.
More to come, stay tuned… pic.twitter.com/0WcPSSiQv2— Ubisoft (@Ubisoft) April 17, 2018
The conference will be held at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angelas, California. This is the same spot the company has been using for its press briefings since 2014. The conference will begin at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET.
While the tweet suggests that fans should “stay tuned” for more details, Ubisoft already promised that The Division 2 will be revealed at E3 over a month ago. Other than the fact that Massive Entertainment is once again leading development (with the help of other Ubisoft studios), there hasn’t been any details about the Tom Clancy sequel whatsoever.
Last year’s press conference was arguably Ubisoft’s best in years, showing off Skull and Bones and surprising everyone with a new Beyond Good & Evil 2 reveal. With Skull and Bones currently slated for a Fall 2018 release, it’s probably safe to assume that we’ll be learning more about the pirate-infused adventure game during the show.
Rumours have also suggested that both Watch Dogs 3 and the next Assassin’s Creed will make appearances on stage this year. And with the recent announcement that Sam Fisher (voiced by Michael Ironside) is coming to Ghost Recon Wildlands, we’re hoping that Ubisoft may have more up its sleeve when it comes to the Splinter Cell franchise.
So far EA, Bethesda, and Microsoft have confirmed dates for their E3 press briefings. We’re still waiting for Sony and Nintendo to announce theirs. With E3 only two months away, it shouldn’t be much longer until we get confirmation.
