Activision Claims Multiple Remasters Are Coming in 2018

What Could It Be Beside Spyro?

Activision holds the key to many people’s childhoods, which is why we’re left to wonder when they’ll bring certain properties back. So far, rumors loudly declare that Spyro will be making a return to form for this latest generation of console. But could there be more old IPs getting the remastered treatment? The latest investor report says it’s possible.

Spyro

In their address to investors, Activision provided a brief survey of their plans for 2018. Per usual, Destiny 2 and Call of Duty WW2 will be receiving additional content updates, but some new remasters shall be among the company’s releases in the latter half of the year. So, if I were a betting man (I’m not, which is why I don’t buy loot boxes), I would place my money on Spyro.

“We expect to release World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth and our latest Call of Duty game in the second half of 2018. In addition, we expect to deliver ongoing content for our various franchises, including expansion packs for Hearthstone and Destiny 2, in-game events for Overwatch, and map packs for Call of Duty: WWII, as well as releases of remastered versions of titles from our library of IP. We also expect to release at least two new mobile titles during 2018, including a social casino game from King.”

While Spyro seems like the obvious choice for a remaster in 2018, we’re left to question what else the publisher will bring back this year. Furthermore, it may be that we get remastered versions of multiple Spyro games in the vein of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. Any thoughts? Let us know in the comments below. And you can be sure to expect updates as the story unfolds.
