Breath of the Wild Feature: 7 Ways to Get Rich in Hyrule
When we were promised a new Legend of Zelda title like never before, we had no idea what to expect. Gone are the days of exponentially full wallets by slashing through the tall grass or shattering every pot we lay our eyes upon, as Breath of the Wild firmly roots itself in its Elder Scrolls inspired survival gameplay. Everything is going to cost you money, and while Rupees can occasionally be found inside crates or under rocks, sticking to that method of finding riches is going to be painfully slow, as – at best – you can find a blue rupee once in a while. “So,” you ask “How do I get all those shiny rupees?” Here are 7 Ways to get Rich in Hyrule.

1. Sell, Sell, Sell!
Any self respecting gamer is going to pick up and collect anything that isn’t nailed down (and probably try to pick up things that are as well). In my time with BOTW I have yet to reach an inventory maximum, so the number of meats, fish, plants, and monster guts you pick up can reach astronomical levels. There really is no downside to picking up every little thing you see because everything has its uses, even if that use is being “of value”. Even something as simple as those Bokoblin horns that litter the ground after a good battle and will easily stack up in your inventory can be very useful in a variety of situations, if only as an easily collectible item to sell. After delving a little deeper into BOTWs gameplay you will have an idea of what items you use the most and which ones just sit in your inventory, so when the time comes and you stumble into a bazaar or wandering merchant, it’s the perfect time to sell all the little knick-knacks you’ve spent the last several hours plucking from across the plains.
2. Big Game Hunter
Everyone needs food, so why not provide a valuable service? Trekking out into the woods with a bow in hand to go out for a relaxing hunt is not only an excellent way to hone your archery skills, but to collect some nice cuts of meat as well. As a rule of thumb, the larger the animal the better the meat, with plenty of Prime Cut Meat and Gourmet Meat around. If you are looking to make money quicker and enjoy a challenge the meat obtained by hunting down the deer at higher altitudes is said to attract a pretty penny from merchants. Considering most larger animals will drop two pieces of meat, for the cost of one arrow it’s well worth it to climb into the mountains and find a nice spot to camp out. Don’t forget a warm tunic and some hot food!
