Producer Won’t Rule Out a Multiplatform Release for Ace Combat 7
Ace Combat is no doubt the golden game of many a fantasy pilot, and perhaps true pilots as well. But the hearts of loyal fans probably sunk when it was announced as a PS4 exclusive. After all, seven years have passed since the last Ace Combat title: Fires of Liberation was released. Back then it was an Xbox game, and the transition to Sony may not bode well for some players. However, in a recent interview with Producer Kazutoki Kono, he revealed that a multiplatform release is possible.
“I would certainly not say that the doors are close for a multi platform release. However right now we are focusing on the PlayStation Experience because it is a PlayStation VR exclusive in terms of a VR unit. So once we get that optimized we can consider other options.”
A multiplatform release would definitely serve the gaming community and deliver the franchise its due recognition. Albeit, Xbox One players may have to keep their fingers crossed. Though speaking of recognition, if you haven’t already seen the reveal trailer, you can watch it now:
At 20% completion, Bandai Namco and the developers have not yet set a release date for Ace Combat 7. While PlayStation 4 and VR remain their priority, nothing is set in stone. But we’ll keep an eye out during 2017, which is sure to be a stacked year for games and news.
