Well, even Japan is crazy for The Division, as Ubisoft’s hit AAA shooter has beaten out The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD to top the Media Create charts in Japan.
According to the Media Create sales chart, The Division moved 80,703 copies on PS4 at launch, compared with Twilight Princess HD’s 52,282 units. This news is particularly sweet for Ubisoft, since Japan is traditionally not a region where shooters are very well-received.
It has been an impressive, even historic launch for Ubisoft, as they announced yesterday The Division made $330 million globally during launch week, calling it the “biggest first week ever” for a new IP. Ubisoft now also boasts three of the top four new game launches in history.
