STAR BIRDS Takes Factory Building to the Next Level With Antimatter Update

The Strangelets Mystery Continues in STAR BIRDS

Toukana Interactive and kurzgesagt have launched the Antimatter Update for STAR BIRDS, bringing a fresh batch of content to the factory-building and resource-management game. Available now on Steam, the update adds Level 15, new technologies and buildings, and a brand-new challenge system for Free Play Mode.

Star Birds

The new campaign level continues the bird crew’s journey through the volcanic Cinnakeet star system. Their usual propulsion technology is no longer enough to reach their final destination, forcing them to turn to a powerful new solution: antimatter. The update also continues the mystery surrounding the Strangelets, the ominous floating rocks discovered by the crew.

Factory builders have plenty to experiment with as well. The new Large Explosive lets players create massive craters on asteroids, turning them into valuable construction sites for spaceship launch and landing pads. This gives players more ways to expand and optimize their increasingly complex factory networks.

Several quality-of-life improvements also arrive with the update, including a revamped crafting tree, new building-menu hotkeys, and faster navigation between connected locations and quest delivery points.

Meanwhile, Cosmic Seasons adds a new reason to return to Free Play Mode every month. Each challenge combines different environmental conditions, resources, and available buildings, with players competing for positions on a global leaderboard.

Since entering Early Access in September 2025, STAR BIRDS has continued to grow, now featuring 78 resources and 46 production buildings alongside multiple star systems and expanded logistics systems.

The full release is planned for Q1 2027, with three more campaign levels and the conclusion of the story still to come. For now, spacefaring birds have antimatter to deal with, and that sounds like a recipe for some seriously chaotic factory-building.
