COP BASTARD Is Shooting Its Way to PC Later This Month

Take Down the Yakuza in COP BASTARD

Get ready for a blood-soaked trip to 1990s Osaka. Developer Targim and publisher Retrovibe have announced that COP BASTARD, a brutal retro-inspired first-person shooter, will launch on Steam and GOG on October 29, 2026. Inspired by hard-boiled cop movies and late-90s PC shooters, the game promises gritty VHS visuals, explosive gunfights, and absolutely no unnecessary filler.

Players step into the boots of Katashi, a disgruntled cop with a serious grudge against the yakuza. From seedy nightclubs and narrow backstreets to apartment buildings and industrial warehouses, every location becomes a battleground where quick reflexes and raw aggression are essential to survival.

COP BASTARD keeps its gameplay brutally simple. Forget skill trees, upgrades, perks, and puzzles. This is old-school FPS action built around lethal enemies, tight corridors, and frantic shootouts that leave little room for hesitation.

Katashi has an arsenal of devastating weapons at his disposal. This includes a Beretta, a double-barrel shotgun, and a powerful magnum revolver. Players can also build a charge meter by taking down enemies. Then they can choose between restoring health by spitting on fallen yakuza or triggering slow motion for cinematic gunfights.

Want to go even further? COP BASTARD rewards players with extra points for pumping additional rounds into already-dead enemies. This makes ruthless aggression part of the game’s scoring system.

With its grimy VHS presentation, unapologetic violence, and no-frills shooting, COP BASTARD looks ready to deliver a refreshing dose of classic FPS chaos.
