Okko the Exiled Ventures Onto Steam and GOG Today

Take Down the Demon Lord in Okko the Exiled

Okko The Exiled is officially out now on PC, sending players straight into the demon-filled world of Kutala. The 2D action-adventure is available today on Steam and GOG.

Developed by Frozen Flame Interactive and published by eastasiasoft, Okko The Exiled follows Okko after 1,000 years of isolation. Armed with the Mighty Fang, he sets out to take down the Demon Lord Yalda and the other powerful lords standing in his way.

And he has plenty of ways to do it. Okko can stomp, launch, deflect, and bash enemies while chaining attacks together to pull off some satisfying combos. The game also throws some seriously big bosses into the mix, so players will need to pay attention and learn their attacks rather than simply rushing in.

When the fighting takes a break, Kutala has plenty to explore. The game features side-scrolling stages filled with precision platforming, hidden areas, and secrets. Players can also head back to The Old Throne, where Okko can meet a colorful group of allies, grab useful items, and upgrade his abilities.

The hand-drawn pixel art is another standout, with smooth 2D animation giving the world a classic retro feel without making it look dated. The game is priced at $14.99/€14.99 on PC, while the Deluxe Edition costs $19.99/€19.99 and includes the digital soundtrack. Console players will have to wait a little longer, with versions planned for both digital and physical release in early 2027.

If you’re into old-school 2D adventures, Okko The Exiled could be worth a look. There’s plenty of demons to smack around, secrets to find, and bosses waiting to ruin your day.
