Tanks Are Coming to Gallipoli
BlackMill Games has revealed the first free post-launch expansion for its historical FPS Gallipoli during the FPS Games Show. Called Second Expedition, the expansion will arrive on October 1 and bring a new map, weapons, gameplay features, and more to the World War I shooter.
The highlight of the expansion is Ali Al Muntar, a new map inspired by the strategic hill that played a key role during the Second Battle of Gaza in World War I. The map will also introduce tanks to the WW1 Game Series for the first time. According to BlackMill Games, these tanks will provide a cinematic escort for players as battles begin, adding a new layer to the opening moments of each match.
Second Expedition will add eight new weapons, alongside new time-of-day and weather presets designed to add more variety to battles. Proximity chat is another major addition, giving players a new way to communicate with teammates and nearby soldiers during combat. It will also introduce several paid cosmetic DLCs, while BlackMill Games plans to continue supporting Gallipoli with updates for years to come.
Gallipoli launched last month on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, featuring full crossplay. The game pits British Empire and Ottoman forces against each other in intense 25v25 squad-based battles inspired by the Gallipoli campaign and the wider Ottoman Fronts.
With tanks finally joining the series, October’s update should give Gallipoli players plenty of new reasons to return to the battlefield.
