DEPERSON Makes Tokyo Game Show 2026 Debut Ahead of Steam Release Next Year

Another Huge Appearance for DEPERSON

DEPERSON, the surreal psychological horror adventure from indie developer Error Thing and publisher PARCO GAMES, has made its Tokyo Game Show 2026 debut.

The appearance marks another major showcase for the upcoming horror title following presentations at The MIX Fall Showcase in Seattle and Game Devs of Color Expo. DEPERSON has also picked up international recognition, including a Best Visuals nomination at the Gamescom Awards 2026 and a nomination for Excellence in Art at Busan Indie Connect Festival 2026.

“We’re three friends trying to make our dream game, and it has been a wild ride,” said Error Thing. “DEPERSON started with a few sketches, then grew into years of work from our families’ homes. Seeing it get nominated at Gamescom and shown at Tokyo Game Show feels completely unreal. We’re so incredibly grateful to the community, their support has made this journey mean even more to us.”

The game follows Aaron as he travels through the harsh and mysterious world of Indrija. What begins as a search for answers gradually turns into a deeper journey through his identity and memories. Players will have to navigate a world governed by strict rules while reality around Aaron becomes increasingly unstable.

DEPERSON combines classic point-and-click adventure gameplay with environmental puzzles, platforming, and character-specific abilities. Player choices will influence Aaron’s journey, the people around him, and ultimately lead to multiple possible endings. It is currently scheduled to launch on Steam in Q2 2027.

With its growing list of festival appearances and award recognition, DEPERSON is shaping up to be an intriguing psychological horror adventure worth keeping an eye on as its 2027 release approaches.
