The Forest Is Hunting You in Voidwood
Santa Barbara Games has revealed Voidwood, a new 1–4 player co-op survival horror game coming to Steam in 2027. Set inside a beautiful but cursed forest, the game puts players in the role of children who must explore by day and survive the horrors that emerge after dark.

During daylight, players will venture into the woods to gather supplies, craft useful tools, and search for valuable resources. However, staying longer comes with greater risks. The deeper players go, the more difficult it becomes to return to safety before night falls.
Once darkness arrives, The Beast enters the forest. This powerful predator cannot be defeated, leaving players with only one option: survive. Alongside other twisted creatures, it turns the once-inviting woodland into a dangerous hunting ground. Players will need to hide, run, and stick together while using proximity chat to communicate. However, talking can also reveal their location to nearby threats.
Anything players manage to bring back can help prepare them for future attempts, including camp upgrades, new tools, and improved strategies.
Voidwood also uses bright colors, warm lighting, and open environments to create a striking contrast with its horror. Spatial audio further adds tension, making footsteps, voices, and distant sounds important clues.
Additionally, the game will make its public gameplay debut at PAX West in Seattle from September 4–7, 2026, at Booth #744. It is already available to wishlist on Steam as well, so make sure to check it out.
With its mix of teamwork, exploration, and atmospheric horror, Voidwood could be one to watch for co-op fans looking for a fresh survival experience.
