Join the Celebration in the King of Fighters AFK
Netmarble is celebrating the first anniversary of The King of Fighters AFK with a new major update, bringing the Fighters Festa to players from August 20 through September 16.
The anniversary event adds a new fighter, fresh progression systems, Team Battle improvements, special rewards, and several limited-time events. Players can also claim a massive Thank-You Gift containing 500,000 Rubies, along with daily rewards through the 1st Anniversary Special Check-In event.
The highlight of Fighters Festa is the Kyo Kusanagi Arrival event, featuring the KOF ’98 version of Kyo Kusanagi. Players can raise him to 10-Star during the event, while his [Endurance] Synergy opens up new team-building options. The celebration also includes increased Legendary rates, the Ruby BACK Event returning, and boosted Premium Summon rewards. On August 27, the Minigame Arcade will also open with five mini-games inspired by the game’s history.
The update introduces another Legendary fighter, Leona Heidern from KOF XIII. She uses [Rush] Synergy, with her arrival and related Pick-Up events running until September 2. A new Keepsake system also lets players upgrade special items linked to Legendary fighters for additional stats and effects. Athena Asamiya is the first fighter to receive a Keepsake.
Team Battle has received one of the biggest changes, increasing team size from five to seven fighters. A new Formation System and rotating Season Buffs should add more variety to competitive matches, while Practice Mode now better replicates live battle conditions.
With more story stages, growth content, and anniversary rewards, The King of Fighters AFK is giving players plenty of reasons to return for its first anniversary.
