The Fertile Crescent 2: Collapse of the Bronze Age Enters Steam Early Access

Build, Gather, and Survive in the Fertile Crescent 2

MicroProse and Wield Interactive have officially launched The Fertile Crescent 2: Collapse of the Bronze Age in Steam Early Access, inviting players to experience a world where ancient civilizations are crumbling, and survival takes priority over conquest. The release came out alongside a new trailer, showcasing the game’s story, settlement building, factions, and real-time battles. You can check it out for yourself right below.

The story-driven real-time strategy game takes players into the Late Bronze Age Collapse, following Mutti and a group of warrior-farmers as they struggle to protect their families and communities amid famine, drought, failing trade routes, and growing unrest. The mysterious Sea Peoples also add another threat as once-powerful empires begin to lose their grip on the region.

The Early Access launch includes 10 narrative-driven campaign missions covering Acts 1 and 2. Players can also jump into skirmish and multiplayer modes for up to four players, with four fully playable factions available at launch.

Alongside traditional settlement-building and real-time combat, the game features Tactical Pause, full save and load support for single-player modes, and eight supported languages. Wield Interactive has also made improvements to AI, pathfinding, performance, the user interface, environments, and overall quality of life.

Additionally, Wield Interactive plans to expand the game throughout Early Access. Future updates will add Acts 3 and 4, multiplayer and skirmish support for up to six players, a map editor, and additional improvements to AI, performance, pathfinding, environments, UI, and quality-of-life features.

For RTS fans interested in history, The Fertile Crescent 2 offers a different kind of challenge, and that is surviving an empire’s collapse rather than simply building one.
