Bon’s upcoming sci-fi visual novel BUZZ or DIE is bringing a seriously twisted game show to PC in 2026. Developed by the solo creator and coming through a collaboration with Japanese publisher Kodansha Game Creators’ Lab, the game puts players in the middle of a brutal popularity contest where going viral could mean the difference between freedom and death.
In BUZZ or DIE, a group of prisoners is given one final chance to escape their sentences. The catch? They have to compete in a televised game show where two opponents dig through each other’s pasts. All while uncovering embarrassing secrets, disturbing memories, and disgraceful actions.
Players must turn those discoveries into the most sensational video possible, complete with an attention-grabbing thumbnail designed to generate as many likes as possible. The prisoner whose video wins the audience over earns their freedom and a single wish. The loser, meanwhile, faces a gruesome streamed execution.
The game’s unusual cast includes a former comedian who became a bomber, a brilliant hacker, a revolutionary, and a chef with a disturbing taste for human flesh. Each character brings their own troubled history to the competition, giving players plenty of secrets to uncover.
BUZZ or DIE may sound outrageous at first, but Bon promises a memorable experience with plenty of depth beneath its shocking premise. The game will launch on PC via Steam in 2026, with English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese language support.
It’s certainly a bizarre concept, but that’s exactly what makes the game worth keeping an eye on.
