Find the Murderer in 4 Penny Coffins
Other Ocean is bringing its upcoming horror and social investigation game, 4 Penny Coffins, to gamescom 2026, giving attendees a chance to get hands-on with the game before its full release.
Players visiting Hall 10.2, F-011f, from Wednesday, August 26 through Sunday, August 30, will be able to try the game’s solo Magistrate Mode, experience its grim Whitechapel-inspired atmosphere, meet members of the development team, and add the game to their wishlist.
4 Penny Coffins puts a dark spin on the social deduction genre. In its online multiplayer mode, up to eight players must work together to uncover a hidden murderer while dealing with lies, fake evidence, changing alibis, and growing paranoia. One player takes on the role of the Ripper, a demonic killer who must deceive the group and redirect suspicion while secretly hunting for victims.
Investigators, meanwhile, will need to search crime scenes, question suspects, monitor suspicious behavior, and connect clues to uncover the truth. The game also offers a solo experience for players who would rather investigate the mysterious streets alone.
Each night is divided into three phases: the Ripper hunts, investigators gather evidence, and a formal Conviction phase brings the round to a conclusion. Players then weigh the available evidence and deliver their verdict, keeping each match moving forward.
With changing roles and player-driven outcomes, no two investigations should play out exactly the same. 4 Penny Coffins looks set to offer a tense mix of mystery, deception, and horror, and gamescom visitors will soon get their chance to step into its dangerous streets.
