Neon Inferno Patch #3 Supercharges Graphics, Revamps Scoring, and Enhances Gameplay

New Features Awaits in Neon Inferno

Indie publisher Retroware and developer Zenovia Interactive have launched Patch #3 for their cyberpunk run-and-gun title Neon Inferno, introducing a range of visual upgrades, gameplay fixes, and quality-of-life improvements. The update is now available on Steam, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5, with the Nintendo Switch version arriving soon.

With this patch, the developers enhance the game’s neon-soaked world by refining several environments. The flooded city now features improved water splash effects, while Brooklyn streets reflect light through newly added puddles. The team has also upgraded the NYPD Safehouse with enhanced sound design, reflective surfaces, and full 3D lighting in the boss’s room. In addition, lightning effects now energize the Pangaea Tower lobby, and animated elevator floor indicators add more life to the Pavilion Hotel interiors.

Zenovia Interactive also fixes multiple gameplay issues. The team refines boss encounters by adjusting Helena Vos’s attack indicators and removing unintended safe spots in the Pangaea Heavy fight. They improve visual clarity by correcting depth-sorting issues across weapon effects and ensure safer respawns by updating vehicle sequence logic.

The patch significantly improves the scoring system. Players can now earn No-Item and Arcade Mode bonuses, while the GunSlingers’ weapon shop becomes accessible during mission and scene replays, allowing more flexibility in loadout experimentation.

The developers also introduced a new 3-button control mode for arcade sticks and classic controllers, along with an anamorphic stretch option to better fit different screen displays.

Additionally, Zenovia Interactive is already preparing the next update, which will add a Survival Mode and more improvements.

Overall, Patch #3 strengthens Neon Inferno with meaningful upgrades, as the developers continue to refine and expand the experience. And if you want to learn more about the game, then check out our official review right here!
