A fresh chapter in the MELTY BLOOD series has officially been revealed, bringing exciting news for fighting game fans. During EVO Japan 2026, publisher Aniplex announced MELTY BLOOD: TWI-LUMINA, a new entry scheduled for release in early 2027. Alongside the announcement, the team also shared a teaser trailer and preview artwork created by character designer Takashi Takeuchi.

The upcoming title builds on the foundation of MELTY BLOOD: TYPE LUMINA, introducing refined battle mechanics, brand-new characters, and a completely new story. The series itself traces its roots back to 2002, when the original Melty Blood debuted on PC, eventually expanding across arcades and modern platforms.
The game will launch across a wide range of systems, including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. Players can expect smoother combat, enhanced 2D animations, and an evolved gameplay system designed to feel both familiar and fresh.
