Join the Deckbuilding Action in Sunyata CCG
Independent studio Nagarjuna Games has announced that the first public demo for its upcoming fantasy card game Sunyata CCG will launch on May 4. The release coincides with the opening of Steam Deckbuilders Fest, giving players an early opportunity to explore the game’s mechanics. The demo introduces fast-paced tactical combat, a distinctive mana system, and striking hand-drawn visuals, along with both PvE encounters and PvP “Challenge a Friend” duels.
Alongside the announcement, the studio unveiled a new demo trailer that highlights the game’s dynamic turn structure, evolving creatures, and its thematic fantasy setting.
The demo offers a variety of playstyles through four pre-built decks. Players can experiment with the Ice Mage, which converts ice mana into Ice Spirit tokens, or the Dragon Riders, built around explosive burn damage. The Trees deck focuses on growth and transformation through the Evolution mechanic. Lastly, the Zombies emphasize sacrificing units to summon aggressive undead.
For those who prefer a more flexible approach, there is also a Draft Mode. It allows players to construct decks using one or two mana types from Ice, Fire, Nature, and Food. The full release will further expand these options with Water, Electricity, Steel, and Gold.
Sunyata aims to carve its own space in the genre by blending familiar ideas with fresh mechanics. It combines elements reminiscent of Hearthstone and Magic: The Gathering while introducing repeatable abilities, evolving units, and more decision-heavy turns.
“Each card in Sunyata is a puzzle piece,” said the development team. “We want players to feel the thrill of assembling a strategy that’s uniquely theirs—something they can invest years into mastering.”
With its demo arriving soon, Sunyata CCG is shaping up to be one to watch in the deckbuilding space.
