Join the Battle for the Grail in Kingdom Loop
Indie developer RootGame has announced that its upcoming tactical roguelike Kingdom Loop will launch on PC via Steam on April 28. Published by Ultimate Games S.A., the medieval fantasy title mixes roguelike progression, city-building elements, and classic turn-based gameplay. Console versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 are planned to follow at a later date.

Presented in a 3D isometric perspective, Kingdom Loop places players in control of a hero caught in an endless cycle, battling for control of the Grail. The game features two distinct factions, humans and the undead, each offering a unique approach to strategy. Human forces depend on a traditional economic system, while the undead grow stronger by harvesting souls, creating a clear contrast in playstyles.
The title draws inspiration from games like Loop Hero and Heroes of Might and Magic III, alongside classic JRPG-style mechanics. This combination aims to deliver a thoughtful experience where decision-making takes center stage.
“We wanted to create a roguelike where the player loses only because of their decisions, not due to randomness. Judging by the testers’ reactions, we succeeded,” highlights Ignat Moroko, CEO of RootGame.
With its mix of strategy, progression systems, and faction-based gameplay, Kingdom Loop looks to offer a fresh take on the roguelike genre when it arrives later this month. Also, make sure to check out the official gameplay trailer to get a glimpse of its unique experience ahead.
