Serious Sam: Shatterverse Unveiled During the Xbox Partner Preview Showcase

Hop Through Dimensions in Serious Sam: Shatterverse

During today’s Xbox Partner Preview showcase, Behaviour Interactive and Devolver Digital officially revealed Serious Sam: Shatterverse, a brand-new multiplayer FPS that reimagines the classic run-and-gun formula with a modern roguelite twist. Inspired by the legacy of Serious Sam: The First Encounter, which marks its 25th anniversary this year, the upcoming title pushes the franchise into bold new territory.

Shatterverse is a five-player co-op experience where players step into the boots of multiple versions of Sam “Serious” Stone across fractured dimensions. After the villainous Mental shatters reality itself, these alternate Sams must unite to restore balance. Players will jump between unstable universes, complete unfinished battles, and take down five powerful lieutenants standing in their way.

The gameplay leans heavily into chaotic, high-speed combat. Massive arenas, relentless enemy hordes, and constant movement define each run, while roguelite systems introduce shifting modifiers, upgrades, and unpredictable anomalies. Each playthrough offers new challenges and opportunities, rewarding players who push deeper into the multiverse.

Although Behaviour Interactive is developing the game, the project has the full support of the original creators, Croteam. Co-creator Davor Hunski praised the fresh direction, while Behaviour’s Nic Duchesne emphasized the team’s goal of honoring the series while evolving it for modern audiences.

Serious Sam: Shatterverse is set to launch later this year on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. So, make sure to keep an eye out for this multi dimensional action adventure.
