Airborne Empire Prepares for 1.0 Liftoff on Steam This April

Build the Best City in Airborne Empire

The Wandering Band has announced that its aerial citybuilder Airborne Empire will officially leave Early Access and launch into version 1.0 on April 17, 2026, arriving on PC and Mac via Steam.

After spending the past year in Early Access, the game has evolved significantly through a series of updates shaped by community feedback. These additions have expanded both the scale and depth of the experience, introducing new biomes, a more challenging Hard Mode, a relaxed Pacifist Mode without enemies, and a Creative Mode that gives players full access to resources and structures from the start.

Ahead of the full release, a new update arriving on March 20 introduces Survival Mode, a faster-paced experience featuring a 20-stage campaign. This mode adds a fresh layer of challenge for players looking to test their skills in the skies.

The 1.0 launch will also bring a brand-new snow-covered biome, complete with quests, a boss encounter, and new upgrades. Among these is the jet engine, which allows players to boost their flying city’s speed, adding more strategic options during exploration and combat.

Airborne Empire blends RPG mechanics with city-building and open-world exploration, placing players in control of a floating settlement. As they expand their empire across the skies, players will encounter unique characters, gather resources, and defend against threats such as sky pirates.

Serving as a follow-up to the BAFTA-nominated Airborne Kingdom, the game builds on its predecessor with deeper role-playing systems, expanded exploration, and the introduction of combat mechanics.
