Try the Longest Tale Demo Now
The Longest Tale is taking part in Steam Next Fest, giving players a closer look at its ambitious fantasy action-adventure title. Developed by Dev Null Productions, it draws inspiration from One Thousand and One Nights. Set across the fractured Shattered Kingdoms, the game follows four distinct heroes whose separate journeys slowly uncover pieces of a shared, ancient legend.
The adventure begins in an ethereal forest, where a mysterious storyteller sets events in motion. From there, players travel through sun-scorched deserts, vast underground caverns, and mist-covered mountain peaks. Each region hides the remnants of fallen civilizations, from crumbling temples and towering fortresses to arcane machines that demand players decipher cryptic glyphs and solve mind-bending puzzles.
At the heart of the experience are four playable heroes, unlocked as the narrative unfolds. Each character brings unique abilities, personal motivations, and ties to the world. Some seek vengeance, others pursue a cursed tower, or navigate the politics of rival factions. Their paths cross and diverge, while player decisions influence alliances, reshape environments, and determine how events unfold.
Built for replayability, The Longest Tale features adaptive progression systems that open or close narrative routes based on player choices. Exploring multiple perspectives becomes essential to uncover the hidden truth connecting the heroes.
Blending myth, literary fantasy, and dreamlike storytelling, the game explores themes of memory, loss, and the endurance of stories after civilizations fall. A playable demo is available now, with a full release planned for Q2 this year.
