Hardkill System Playtest Is Now Live on Steam

Defend the Facility in Hardkill System

The indie game developer Yevhen Bodrenko has announced that the Steam playtest for Hardkill System is now live. Players can “Request Access” now and be a part of its development journey. You can also wishlist the game right now to be among the first ones to enter the battlefield when it finally comes out this year.

Hardkill System is a top-down roguelite mech shooter that draws inspiration from MechWarrior, Helldivers, and classic sci-fi films like The Terminator and The Matrix. In this grim future, the machines have already won, and humanity’s last hope lies in the Resistance.

You play as a human brain integrated into the Hardkill System, a deadly combat mech designed to defend The Facility. Each run challenges you to fine-tune your build, scavenge for powerful weapons and tools, and upgrade your systems to survive increasingly dangerous missions. Your ultimate goal: locate and destroy the superhuman AI that now rules Earth’s surface. But survival comes at a cost. You only have a limited number of Frames per run, forcing you to balance risk and reward carefully.

Customization sits at the core of the experience. Experiment with a wide range of parts, weapons, ammo types, and upgrades to craft the perfect loadout. Combat rewards precision, allowing you to target specific enemy components while using the environment strategically. With deep mechanics that simulate weight, temperature, ballistics, and armor, Hardkill System delivers a challenging and tactical mech warfare experience.
