Prepare to Take Down Lucifer in Little Devil
Indie developer Mike “MI Pixel” Armstrong-Ingram is opening the Steam Playtest for Little Devil to more players on September 10, 2026. The upcoming top-down action roguelike blends dark humor with chunky pixel art inspired by the Sega Mega Drive era, giving players a fresh chance to experience its fast-paced, replayable dungeon runs. You can take part in it by signing up on its official Steam store page right now.

The playtest features the game’s first procedurally generated dungeon along with a boss battle against Gluttony. Each run lasts around 10–20 minutes, and every attempt offers a different layout, enemy placement, traps, and build options, encouraging players to experiment with new strategies.
Players can mix and match primary and secondary weapons while building powerful combinations through the three-slot Boon system. Duplicate Boons level up into stronger versions, while Soul abilities, Curses, and status effects add even more variety. Puzzle rooms, blood-sacrifice trial rooms, and environmental traps also change the path through each run, and full controller support is available.
The playtest also introduces Penny’s shop, where players can purchase weapons, health upgrades, Boons, and Soul abilities. Just don’t attack the shopkeeper, as she’ll remember it by raising her prices.
MI Pixel is actively seeking feedback on combat balance, weapons, the Gluttony boss fight, progression, and whether the Vestibule provides enough guidance. The feedback will help shape the game ahead of its planned October demo.
While this playtest only includes the first level and unfinished audio, it offers a promising glimpse into Little Devil’s chaotic roguelike adventure.
