Echoes of Mystralia Just Released Its First Steam Demo

Wishlist Echoes of Mystralia Now

Montreal-based developer Borealys Games has unveiled the first demo for Echoes of Mystralia, delivering an intense early look at the sequel to Mages of Mystralia and ushering in a bold new chapter for its spellcrafting franchise. The full game launches later this year. Players can wishlist it on Steam and prepare to confront a Rift that threatens to devour the world of Mystralia.

Echoes of Mystralia

Echoes of Mystralia builds on the world and lore of its predecessor while shifting the series into a roguelike format. Players step into the role of Mazarim, who must safeguard the World’s Memory, a powerful force sustaining the realm, after a catastrophic tear disrupts the Cycle of Memories. The game centers on fast, fluid combat. Players battle Rift-born enemies and collect the memories they leave behind. These memories power the game’s deep magic system, allowing players to craft and combine spells. This ranges from crackling lightning bolts to devastating freezing tornadoes, and shapes Mazarim’s evolving arcane abilities.

After each run, Mazarim returns to the Azimuth Temple. There, players upgrade abilities, unlock new skills, and strengthen bonds with fellow Watchers and an ancient goddess who guides the journey. These moments of respite prepare players for increasingly dangerous encounters, including shadowy remnants of Mystralia’s past and formidable primordial Guardians.

The demo introduces The Ash Forest, the first biome, where players unlock four spells, complete four combat challenges, and face the first Guardian, Therakan. With 50 unique memories available, the demo offers millions of spellcrafting possibilities ahead of the game’s PC launch in 2026.
