Splitgate: Arena Reloaded Is Launching Its 2.2 Update This Week

New Features Are Coming to Splitgate: Arena Reloaded

1047 Games has announced Update 2.2 for SPLITGATE: Arena Reloaded, headlined by the debut of Arena Royale, a bold new mode that fuses the intensity of arena shooters with the high-stakes structure of a battle royale. The update launches on January 22, across PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Windows), Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4.

Arena Royale drops 24 players into one of four sprawling biomes, including the brand-new urban environment, Outskirts. Designed for faster, more aggressive matches, the mode prioritizes constant action over downtime. Traditional battle royale systems like buy stations are removed in favor of instant upgrades, while respawning keeps players in the fight and maintains Splitgate’s signature momentum. New Arena Events further shake up matches by injecting classic arena-style objectives directly into the battle royale experience.

“When we sat down to design Arena Royale, we knew we wanted to push it closer to that arena shooter feel,” said 1047 Games Design Director Josh Watson. “We kept coming back to this core idea: less looting, more shooting.”

Update 2.2 reinforces 1047 Games’ commitment to arena-first design by combining the best elements of both genres. Fast movement, precise gunplay, quick respawns, and relentless pacing meet the scale, variety, and dramatic finales of battle royales, creating a mode tailored specifically for arena shooter fans.

Beyond Arena Royale, the update adds two new Arena maps, a full set of new Mastery Challenges, and additional content to expand progression and replayability. With Update 2.2, Splitgate: Arena Reloaded continues to evolve while staying true to the high-energy gameplay that defines the series.
