A Huge Win for and Roger
and Roger, the award-winning point-and-click slice-of-life visual novel from TearyHand Studio and publisher Kodansha Creators’ Lab, claimed top honors at the 2026 Taipei Game Show Indie Game Awards. The game secured both the coveted Grand Prix and Best Audio awards, marking a major milestone for Japanese indie development.
With its Grand Prix win, and Roger ended a seven-year drought for Japanese indie titles at Taipei Game Show’s highest tier. To celebrate the achievement, players on Steam and Nintendo Switch can pick up the game at a 30% discount for a limited time. The offer is available until Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at 1:59 AM PST.
A BAFTA-nominated emotional experience, and Roger tells a deeply unsettling story through quiet, everyday moments. The game follows a young girl going through her usual morning routine. She yawns awake, stretching and splashing cold water on her face. Everything feels normal until she heads downstairs for breakfast. Her father is gone. In his place sits a strange man, relaxed on the couch, occupying her dad’s favorite spot as if he belongs there.
Questions quickly pile up. Who is this man? Where is her father? Why does the stranger insist she “take her medicine”? Players uncover the truth by engaging in a series of interactive mini-games, where mundane household activities hide crucial clues. Each small action pushes the story forward, slowly revealing the reality behind the girl’s disturbing situation.
and Roger is available now on PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch for $4.99, with support for English, Japanese, Korean, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.
