Starsand Island Will Be Coming to Switch 2 in Early 2026

A Cozy Farming Life Awaits in Starsand Island

Starsand Island will bring its gentle life and farming experience to Nintendo Switch 2 in early 2026. The Chinese studio Seed Lab has confirmed that the anime-themed adventure is joining the platform alongside the previously announced releases for PC, Xbox Series X and S, and PlayStation 5.

The developers are preparing the Nintendo Switch 2 version to make the most of the new hardware. Players will have a Quality Mode that targets 45fps at 1080p, and a Performance Mode that reaches 60fps at the same resolution. Both options work in docked and handheld play. The game will also include Game Chat for online sessions and support for mouse controls.

Starsand Island follows a character who leaves a demanding city life behind and returns to the quiet island where their childhood began. The journey focuses on recovery, reflection, and the rediscovery of simple routines. Players can grow crops, look after animals, fish along the shore, explore ancient ruins, and get to know a cast of lively and memorable residents.

Creative Director Richardo Wang said, “Bringing Starsand Island to Nintendo Switch 2 has been a longstanding goal for us; the life-sim genre has a natural home on Nintendo consoles. Even before it was announced nearly a year ago, we knew – and wanted – our game to be on Nintendo’s next-generation platform. Starsand Island transports players to a simple, pastoral life, and we think that should be available whether they’re at home, commuting to and from work, or taking a break.”

Starsand Island will release on PC, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X and S, and PlayStation 5 in early 2026. Players can now add the game to their wishlist. If you want to find out more about the game, check our preview right here!
