Shrine’s Legacy Launched Today on PC and Steam Deck Today

Save the World in Shrine’s Legacy

Positive Concept Games and indie.io have launched Shrine’s Legacy on PC via Steam and Steam Deck today. The game promises to deliver a 16-bit fantasy action RPG experience inspired by the classics of the SNES era.

In a world threatened by darkness, the Dark Lord Aklor has returned after centuries of imprisonment, reclaiming Ardemia as his own. Only Rio, heir to the legendary Sword of the Shrine, holds the key to stopping him. But first, he must locate the magical weapon. Alongside Reima, a mage of extraordinary power. Together, they must gather the eight scattered elements, unlocking the only force capable of defeating Aklor once and for all.

Players explore a vast, immersive world filled with secrets, hidden treasures, and the echoes of stories shaped by conflict. Their journey takes them through perilous dungeons, across devastated fields, and into towns ravaged by the Dark Lord’s forces. Along the way, they meet unforgettable allies and confront the deep scars left by the spread of darkness. The game blends an emotional narrative with fast-paced, real-time combat, allowing players to switch fluidly between Rio’s swordsmanship and Reima’s spellcasting. Fans can also experience the adventure in local or online co-op, solving intricate puzzles and overcoming powerful foes by combining the pair’s unique abilities.

The intuitive progression system enhances both heroes, unlocking new skills and spells as their journey unfolds. Creative Director Alan Gabbard emphasized the importance of true cooperative gameplay, drawing inspiration from classic Mana titles to allow friends to share the experience seamlessly, whether side by side or online.

Shrine’s Legacy is available now on PC and Steam Deck for $19.99 USD, with full English language support, inviting players to test their courage, strengthen bonds, and face the ultimate challenge to save Ardemia from certain doom.
