Horror Awaits in Bye Sweet Carole
Maximum Entertainment, together with Italian studios Little Sewing Machine and Meangrip Studios, has officially released Chris Darril’s Bye Sweet Carole. It is a long-awaited horror adventure inspired by the golden age of hand-drawn animation. The game is now available worldwide on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam.
Set in a haunting yet captivating world, Bye Sweet Carole follows Lana Benton. She is a brave young girl on a quest to find her missing friend, Carole. Her search leads her to the eerie Bunny Hall orphanage, a place shrouded in dark secrets and unsettling mysteries. As Lana ventures deeper into its shadowy corridors, she becomes entangled in a world where fairytales twist into nightmares.
Every moment in the game reflects the meticulous artistry of hand-drawn animation. The game’s stunning visuals bring to life a cast of memorable figures, from Lana’s loyal rabbit companion Mr. Baesie to the menacing owl Velenia, the terrifying Mr. Kyn, and swarms of grotesque tar bunnies that lurk in the darkness. This intricate visual style gives the story an atmosphere both nostalgic and chilling. It perfectly captures the tone of classic animated cinema with a modern horror edge.
In addition to its digital release, Bye Sweet Carole launches physically for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch in EMEA and Australia, with a North American release scheduled for October 21. The physical edition includes a reversible cover with alternate artwork, a digital soundtrack featuring 27 tracks, and a digital artbook offering a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of this handcrafted nightmare.
