Rain World: The Watcher Is Coming to Consoles This Month

Dive Into the Unknown in Rain World: The Watcher

Rain World: The Watcher is creeping onto consoles this September, bringing its eerie survival adventure to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox on September 25. Developed by Videocult and published by Akupara Games, the expansion first slithered onto PC earlier this year, leaving console players eager for their turn to navigate its unsettling, shifting world. Set in an overgrown wasteland, The Watcher places you in the role of a slugcat forced to hide, climb, and sneak through a fractured reality where survival depends on cunning and instinct.

Alongside the console release, Videocult is introducing Watcher 1.5, a substantial update that expands the experience with fresh regions to explore, new creatures, items, and mechanics, as well as additional characters, paths, and endings. Players can also look forward to a wealth of new art and music, deepening the haunting atmosphere Rain World is known for.

The update does not stop with The Watcher campaign. The core Rain World game will see significant enhancements, including over fifty new Arena maps, full Arena Mode, and Jolly Co-op support for The Watcher, and retroactive Jolly Co-op compatibility across all five Downpour campaigns. Numerous gameplay tweaks, patches, and quality of life improvements promise a smoother, richer experience for returning players.

Rain World’s brutal ecosystem once again challenges you to survive as a fragile slugcat, both predator and prey, in a world where larger, hungrier creatures stalk the shadows. The Watcher DLC pushes players deeper into uncharted territory, hinting at places never fully seen before. Strange new predators, shifting environments, and a fragile world on the brink await. In this wild, unpredictable landscape, every step is a gamble, and every moment is a test of survival against the unknown.
