Save Humanity in Mirai #167
Orangenap Studio has announced Mirai #167, a 2D pixel-art runner set to launch on Steam in Q1 2026. Players will dive into a tense, fast-paced adventure where artificial intelligence has exceeded human control. The goal is to upgrade your heroes, shatter records, and change the course of history before time runs out.
To mark the game’s inclusion in Tiny Teams, an indie festival celebrating small-team creativity, the studio released the first official trailer exclusively through IGN. A free demo will also arrive on Steam starting September 8, giving players an early chance to experience the chaos.
The story follows two protagonists, Jonas and Mirai #167, separated by centuries but linked by the same soul. Jonas, a guilt-ridden programmer, is forced to confront the machines he once helped build. From the future comes Mirai #167, a time-traveling combat robot of Jonas’s own design, sent back to alter the timeline and prevent disaster. Players will switch between the two characters, utilizing their distinct abilities to overcome enemies and obstacles.
Gameplay combines classic runner elements with a variety of combat. Players can dash, slide, and leap across hazardous terrain, or engage foes directly through melee attacks, deflect incoming fire, and hurl environmental objects. As the adventure unfolds, characters can be enhanced through a skill tree. This allows players to unlock new abilities and refine their playstyle at any point.
Mirai #167 aims to deliver both adrenaline-fueled action and a layered narrative, blending time-bending mechanics with a story of redemption. With its mix of speed, strategy, and emotional stakes, the game promises an experience that appeals to those seeking more than just quick reflexes.
