Meet the New Fighters in Double Dragon Gaiden
Maximum Entertainment and developer Secret Base have released a free DLC for Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons. It comes with two new playable characters for the popular beat ‘em up. This is the second character pack of the year, following the April debut of Jeff and Abore. To mark the launch, the game is currently available at 65% off on Steam and Nintendo Switch.
The first of the new fighters is Evil Marian, once a trusted ally who has now fallen under the control of an ancient, malevolent force. She floats above the battlefield, striking with psychic blasts and violent telekinesis. Her vacant eyes and hollow voice suggest something dark and relentless has taken hold of her, refusing to let go.
The second addition is Super Anubis, a figure long rumored to be nothing more than a fraud. His return tells a different story as he now levitates, glows with unearthly light, and commands dark forces beyond comprehension. Whether this transformation reveals a hidden truth or exposes a dangerous deception is a question left unanswered.
Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons brings back the iconic Billy and Jimmy Lee for a new fight against the criminal underworld of New York City. Players battle through the streets using powerful combos, unique special moves, and unlockable upgrades, all while choosing from a growing roster of characters. A tag team system allows two fighters to be selected and swapped during combat, adding a layer of strategy to the fast-paced action.
The new DLC is available now on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4.
