Back To The Dawn Breaks Out With Major 1.0 Launch On PC And Xbox

Escape The Prison In Back To The Dawn

Metal Head Games and Spiral Up Games have officially released Back to the Dawn out of Early Access. The game is now available in its full 1.0 form on Steam and Xbox Series X|S, bringing with it a major content update and console debut. Check out the official full game launch trailer below to get a glimpse of this pixel-art prison survival RPG.

The 1.0 version introduces the Black Panther Arc, a new narrative path that adds fresh quests, characters, and a deeper moral dimension. Players can now choose between two distinct storylines. Thomas the Fox, a journalist framed for uncovering a political conspiracy, seeks justice and escape. Meanwhile, Bob the Panther, an undercover cop, must navigate prison life. He must do so without revealing his identity while investigating a dangerous internal plot.

This new arc expands the game’s focus on trust, survival, and shifting alliances. Bob’s journey introduces new locations, characters, and gameplay twists that offer a different perspective on life inside Boulderton Prison. While Thomas fights to prove his innocence, Bob must do whatever it takes to stay alive and protect his cover.

Alongside these additions, the full release features new quests, secret areas, gameplay system upgrades, and full gamepad support. With its richly detailed world and reactive storytelling, Back to the Dawn has already earned a 92 percent positive rating on Steam.

Back to the Dawn is available now for $19.99, with a 15%launch discount for the first two weeks. Whether returning or playing for the first time, players can now experience the complete and definitive version of this prison survival RPG.
