Forgotten 23 Will Begin Its Haunting Sci-Fi Loop on Steam on 18 July

Escape the Loop in Forgotten 23

Solo developer KovalGames and publishing platform indie.io have announced the release date for Forgotten 23, a sci-fi survival puzzle game built around a 23-minute time loop. The game arrives on Steam on July 18, 2025.

Set aboard The Forgotten, a decaying space station in orbit above Proxima Centauri b, players take on the role of engineer Max Novak. He arrives after receiving a distress signal, only to find the crew missing and just 23 minutes left before the station crashes. But time resets, again and again. Caught in an endless loop, Max must uncover the truth, fix the station, and escape a fate that seems inevitable.

Each cycle challenges players to learn more about the station’s shifting interior. You’ll solve environmental puzzles and scavenge tools from what remains. From sealing gas leaks to restoring broken systems, every second matters. Along the way, logs and personal artifacts slowly reveal the hidden fears and secrets of the missing crew.

As the loop repeats, strange changes take hold. Rooms rearrange. Systems fail unpredictably. And the station’s AI, Luna, remains eerily calm, perhaps too calm. Her motivations are unclear, her guidance uncertain. Is she an ally, or something else entirely?

With no combat and no traditional enemies, Forgotten 23 builds tension through atmosphere, logic, and psychological unease. Inspired by the works of Stanisław Lem, the game takes a philosophical and eerie approach to science fiction, wrapped in a uniquely Polish sensibility.

Players can wishlist Forgotten 23 on Steam now and prepare to uncover the buried truths when the game launches on July 18.
