Lead Your Crew in Drill Core
Drill Core, the quirky platform miner simulator from developer Hungry Couch and publisher tinyBuild, is officially leaving Early Access. Version 1.0 arrives on PC via Steam on Thursday, July 17, 2025, with a Nintendo Switch release scheduled for later this year. The announcement came out during the tinyBuild Connect, accompanied by a brand-new trailer.
In Drill Core, players step into the role of Platform Manager for Drill Core Inc., where the mission is anything but ordinary: mine distant planets, manage your crew, and fend off alien threats, all while trying to prevent a galactic climate crisis.
The job isn’t easy. You will recruit a crew of miners, carriers, and guards, activate a high-tech drilling platform, and dig deep into planetary cores to extract vital resources. Strategic planning is key, as each operation requires careful route management and real-time decision-making.
But the planets are not empty. Each one is home to unique ecosystems filled with unpredictable and sometimes hostile wildlife. To protect your crew, you will need to deploy defensive turrets and make tough calls when survival is on the line.
With each new planet presenting fresh challenges, success depends on your ability to adapt. Dynamic environments, shifting threats, and the constant need to balance efficiency with safety keep every mission engaging.
Drill Core launches on Windows PC for 19.99 USD with full language support in 11 languages, including English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese. The Nintendo Switch version is expected to follow later in 2025.
