Darkest Dungeon II Is Getting a Physical Release for Switch and PS5

Darkest Dungeon II Is Two Years Old

To mark the second anniversary of Darkest Dungeon II, Red Hook Studios and Skybound Games have announced a special physical release: the Darkest Dungeon II Anniversary Edition. This new edition celebrates the gothic roguelike’s journey since its original launch and is now available for pre-order on Amazon for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch at $99.99. Shipping is expected in Q4 2025.

This physical edition goes beyond the base game, offering a collection of carefully crafted items and digital extras that immerse players further into the game’s grim world. It includes a collectible steelbook case featuring striking artwork, an in-game combat pop-up diorama, and a papercraft version of the iconic stagecoach used throughout the game’s harrowing road trip.

Also included is a fully playable deck of cards with characters from the game, along with redemption codes for over 20 tracks from the game’s haunting soundtrack, featuring the newly released Kingdoms soundtrack. Players in ESRB regions will also receive codes for all current downloadable content: The Binding Blade, The Inhuman Bondage, and The Infernal Supporter Pack.

The announcement of the Anniversary Edition is part of a broader celebration for the game’s second birthday. Red Hook Studios will host a livestream event on May 9 at 3 p.m. Pacific Time via their official Twitch channel. The stream will feature gameplay from the latest update, developer commentary, and a preview of what is next for the grim and beloved title.

Furthermore, Red Hook is releasing Secrets of the Coven, the second Kingdoms module, to consoles this month for the game’s anniversary. It hits PlayStation on May 7, with Xbox and Switch later in May. Kingdoms is a free mode with three unique adventures, playable alongside Confessions. Red Hook also launched Kingdoms and the Inhuman Bondage DLC on Switch on May 1.
