The Atomic Owl Is Coming to Your Shelf
Fans of stylish action platformers will soon have another reason to add Atomic Owl to their physical collection. Eastasiasoft has announced that the hack-and-slash adventure will receive a physical release for PlayStation 5 in Asia this December, with both Standard and Deluxe Editions now available for pre-order.

Developed by independent studio Monster Theater, Atomic Owl puts players in the feathers of Hidalgo Bladewing, a samurai-inspired owl who sets out to rescue his companions from an old enemy. He also has a talking sword by his side, because apparently one strange companion wasn’t enough.
The game combines fast-paced side-scrolling combat with roguelite elements, all wrapped in vibrant hand-crafted pixel art. Its surreal worlds draw heavily from Japanese culture and anachronistic fantasy, giving the adventure a distinctive visual style.
The console version also comes with several improvements, including rebalanced gameplay and bug fixes. Players who aren’t fans of roguelite mechanics can also jump into the new “NO ROGUELITE” mode, making the experience more approachable for newcomers while still giving longtime fans plenty to sink their teeth into.
The Asian physical release will cost $24.99 for the Standard Edition, while the $34.99 Deluxe Edition includes a slipcase and soundtrack CD. Both versions are expected to ship in December 2026.
With its striking pixel art, samurai owl protagonist, and revamped console features, Atomic Owl looks like a pretty tempting physical release for PS5 owners looking for something a little different this holiday season. You can also enjoy the game digitally on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox X/S, Switch, and PC.
