Drill Core Digs Toward Steam Next Fest With Over 40,000 Miners Already Joining It

Get Ready for Drill Core

The indie studio Hungry Couch and publisher tinyBuild have announced that Drill Core is taking part in the upcoming Steam Next Fest. The demo is already available on the platform for everyone to try out. It is worth mentioning that the game managed to gather over 40,000 Drill miners in the recent playtest with an average playtime of 4 hours.

“We are very pleased that people enjoyed the playtest of Drill Core,” said Konstantin Burov, head of Hungry Couch Games. “Playtesters helped identify various issues, shared many great ideas, and energized us to work on the game with even more dedication. We want to thank everyone who played the game!”

Drill Core

Drill Core is a 2D strategic mining and colony simulator game with tower defense elements. You will work as a manager of your own mining crew and descend deeper into the planet’s core. Plan your descent carefully and manage your resources wisely. Every decision counts as you race against time to prevent climate collapse.

Aliens will attack the platform every night, so you need to strategically fortify it. Build turrets and upgrade your defenses to repel increasingly monstrous threats. Experiment with the layouts to maximize their effectiveness, and use new technologies you discover during the run. Each mission is unique, with procedurally generated planets, monsters, and conditions to test your strategy prowess.

This planet-mining strategy is coming to Early Access on Steam later this year, so, stay tuned for more updates.
