Battle in Style in Pokémon Unite

We have good news for all the Pokémon fans out there! The free-to-play Nintendo Switch and mobile MOBA Pokémon Unite have announced that Magikarp and Gyarados are coming to the game. They will be arriving later this month on 25 January.

The game recently added Metagross and Meowscarada at the end of last year. With this latest news, we are very excited to get our hands on these two classic Pokémon.

Pokémon Unite

Magikarp is a water-type Pokémon that made its debut in Generation 1. It resembles a small fish with a reddish-orange hue complemented by yellow fins and whiskers. This Pokemon is based on a carp and carries a significant reference to Chinese mythology wherein a carp that leaps over the Dragon Gate will transform into a dragon.

It is known for being one of the weakest in the world of Pokémon, with poor stats and a notably ineffective move called Splash. Nevertheless, through evolution, it transforms into the legendary dragon-like water and flying type Pokémon, Gyarados.

Similar to the main series, Magikarp will have its usual “Splash” ability. And upon reaching its maximum gauge, it will transform the formidable Gyarados. Take a glimpse of the video of Magikarp in action right below.
