Atlas Wept, Dual-Narrative RPG, Announces January Release Date

The World Unravels

Prepare to step into a completely different world. Here, two groups of children set out on an adventure of self-discovery and the cruelties of a world. Old school gameplay meets a modern experience, RPG meets bullet hell, as a world falls to possible ruin. Today, solo developer Kbojisoft is happy to announce their old school RPG, Atlas Wept, is releasing on January 17, 2024. Releasing on PC, the game invites players to enter an alien world and follow the stories of two groups of kids on two separate adventures. Importantly, a release date trailer gives players a glimpse of what they can expect from the game.

Atlas Wept

Atlas Wept introduces players to Dezi and Charlie as they search for the origin of a personality-erasing force. Yet, in an alternate story occurring at the same time, players also meet Hal and Lucy as they hunt for truth behind Gigi the Robot Dog’s existence. Interestingly, the game combines turn-based and bullet hell mechanics. However, in the same style as old-school RPGs from the Golden Era, players can explore a variety of stylish and colorful locations from a top-down perspective. A press release cites games like Mother as an inspiration for behind the games style.

Interestingly, Atlas Wept allows players to solve puzzles, engage in mini games, and cheeky dialogue. Check out the gameplay trailer below for a glimpse of the game.

Atlas Wept is releasing for PC via Steam on January 17, 2024. More information is available on the game’s official website. Gamers with more interest can find Kbojisoft on Twitter here
