Torn Away Tries to Get Home On PC and Xbox

A Heartbreaking Tale

There are few events in history as impactful as World War II. Of course, millions of people were affected and the world was forever changed. Yet, this means there are millions of stories to be told in multiple different mediums. Now, players can embark on such a story in game form. Indie studio perelesoq and publisher OverGamez are happy to allow people to step into their heartbreaking narrative game, Torn Away. Inviting players to partake in the story of a young girl on a journey home in World War II, the game tells the story through a variety of unique methods. A press release provides details on the game and just how it tells its story.

Torn Away

Torn Away introduces players to a young girl during World War II: Asya. As Asya, players will escape from a German labor camp with only one destination in mind and that is home. Interestingly, the game tells Asya’s story through a variety of different gameplay mechanics including classic adventure levels that remind you life was good once, stealth platformers where you will need to dodge the eyes of soldiers, first-person cinematic levels, and more. Importantly, the game aims to deliver a touching story inspired by a child’s diary of the hardships of wartime.

Players can get a look at Torn Away in the game’s gameplay trailer. Check out the trailer below for a glimpse of Asya’s tale.

Torn Away is available now on Steam, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Additionally, the game will also release for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation later this Autumn.
