Final Nail in the Coffin
2022 was supposed to be the year of the vampires. We had V Rising, people we still excited about Redfall, and there was Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt and Swansong. For eternal creatures of the night, not many of them live up to the name.
The vampire legend will endure, but unfortunately our games will not. Today, developer Sharkmob has announced that they will be ceasing ongoing development of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt. That’s the battle royale one.
The game was announced during the height of the battle royale craze. When it came out, it was interesting enough to draw players in and earn some pretty decent praise from critics. However, while it stood out from the pack, Bloodhunt just did not reach the level of success the developers hoped for.
We have an important announcement concerning the future development of Bloodhunt. Please read the full announcement by clicking this link: https://t.co/ooyaJ33vN7 pic.twitter.com/vNfMqghMTg

When this type of news hits a game like this, it often means that it will go offline. Fortunately for those Bloodhunt players that are committed to the game, servers will stay online. Starting on September 26th, microtransactions will be fazed out. Sharkmob is looking into ways that remaining players can earn in-game currency to unlock premium cosmetics.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt is free to play. It is available on PC and PS5, for now.
