Inspector Gadget: Mad Time Party Coming to Xbox This Fall

I’ll Get You Next Time, Gadget!

Microids has been hard at work with some classic franchises. They have done work on Agatha Christie, Oddworld, House of the Dead, and more. This Fall, Inspector Gadget: Mad Time Party will be joining the publisher’s catalogue of games.

This game was announced last month for PC, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. However, Microids announced earlier today that it would also be coming out on Xbox. Apparently, the demand was large and vocal enough for them to expand its supporting platforms, and we are glad about it.

Inspector Gadget

The art style and character design is modeled after the Inspector Gadget animated series. The show originally ran from 1983 to 1986. Unfortunately, Don Adams, the voice actor for Gadget died in 2005. A revival of the franchise was made in 2015, with a new cast and animation style. Perhaps the new cast (including Ivan Sherry and Tara Strong) could reprise their roles for this game.

The premise of the story is that Metro City is under the control of Dr. Claw, so Gadget must go back in time to save it. However, the plan backfires and Gadget’s ancestors are brought to the present. Together, they must defeat Dr. Claw and save the city.

The game features a single player story as well as a multiplayer mode. In the solo mode, Inspector Gadget can freely explore Metro City, completing quests and challenges. Multiplayer appears to be a collection of mini-games found in the story mode.

Inspector Gadget: Mad Time Party will be coming out in September for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
