New “Green” Xbox Controller – Remix Special Edition Is Quite Expensive!

Got to Spend Green to Get Green

Xbox is taking strides toward their products becoming more sustainable and environmentally friendly. Not long ago, they pushed an update to consoles to be more “carbon aware”. They are now selling the Wireless Xbox Controller – Remix Special Edition, though it is more expensive than regular controllers.

The new controller is green, both in color and in sustainability. The deal with this Xbox controller is that one third of its materials are made of recycled materials. The color palette of the controller is also very earthy, covered with greens and browns. It also is compatible with Windows PC, Android, iOS, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

While it has a higher price tag than the standard wireless Xbox controller, it also comes with a rechargeable battery pack and USB-C cable. Despite the price, if you use the battery pack and cable enough, you may actually save some money on AA batteries in the long run.

The Remix Special Edition will cost $85, about $20 more than the standard controller. Still, at least it is less expensive than the controllers from the Xbox Design Lab. You can pre-order the Remix Special Edition now, but it goes on sale on April 18th.
