GameStop Error Cancels Resident Evil 4 Collector’s Edition Orders

Saddler!

2023 is going to be a great year for gamers. We got huge games coming out, like Resident Evil 4 Remake. If you loved the original, you might want to secure your own Collector’s Edition. Thank goodness it is exclusive to the totally reliable, never a problem for anyone GameStop.

Oops. Spoke too soon. It appears that many GameStop customers, who pre-ordered the Resident Evil 4 Collector’s Edition are getting some bad news. There are reports of emails confirming these cancellations are being sent out.

The cancellations are being blamed on software called SAP, which GameStop began using last year. SAP stands for systems, applications, and products, which is used for managing inventory. Since the SAP implementation of 2022, there have been many game releases affected in similar ways to this case.

It was thought that only in-store orders were affected, but customers have been reporting the same results for online orders. Hardcore fans who pre-ordered the Collector’s Edition should check their email. May you be sparred of this tragedy.

Those who have received email confirmation that their order was cancelled can re-order Resident Evil 4 standard edition for a $10 discount. It’s something, but sad consolation for that sweet Leon Kennedy statue they wanted.

Resident Evil 4 will be coming out March 23rd for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
